Leisure Pursuits In MAKADI BAY:

1. DOLPHINARIUM IN HURGHADA:

Dolphin World Dolphinarium opened in 2010. Today, this amazing center is one of the most popular places to visit for tourists who came to rest in Hurghada or nearby resorts. In the process of creating its project and further construction, all the necessary recommendations and standards were taken into account, which talk about the correct maintenance of marine animals. The dolphin show is held in a large pool with a capacity of 3,500 m3. Here, in crystal clear water, filtered with the help of modern Italian equipment, marine mammals show incredible tricks and numbers.

A batch of professional animal artists was purchased for the Hurghada dolphinarium, performing under the guidance of experienced trainers. The show is held in Russian. So, having bought a ticket for the show, hurry to take the most comfortable seat. There are many of them here, but the most comfortable are in the last three rows, as they are under a canopy, in the shade. During a long dolphin show, you can easily get sunburned, so on a particularly hot day, it is better to choose seats protected from direct sunlight. Don’t worry, there is a great view from any point in the auditorium – you will not miss anything interesting! The seats are made of durable plastic, but at the same time they are quite comfortable to sit on during the entire show.

Before the show, you can drop in with your child to a local cafe to have a snack or drink a cold drink. The show with the participation of marine mammals begins with a cheerful couple of northern fur seals, whose names are Brave and Agatha. They show their tricks under the supervision of a trainer. The seals are excellent acrobats. The second act is the performance of a small but very talented walrus Lila. She not only masterfully plays musical instruments, sings and dances beautifully, but also loves to communicate with guests. Lila asks riddles to the audience and entertains them in every possible way. Following the miniature walrus, a very large animal comes out to the guests of the dolphinarium – a sea lion from South America named Dimas. He is distinguished by his impressive size and beautiful skin that shimmers in the sun.

You will hear and see how he roars loudly, shows acrobatic numbers, performs tricks with hoops. Dimas is an excellent athlete, he loves surfing and is fond of beach volleyball. The final number is a performance of the smartest creatures on Earth – dolphins. There are three of them and they are all capable of many things: doing somersaults, performing different jumps, playing with balls, riding their trainers, singing, dancing, drawing and doing much more. Each number in the Hurghada dolphinarium is accompanied by cheerful musical compositions. After the show, for an additional fee, you can take a photo with the dolphins and even swim with them in the pool.

2. BOAT WITH A TRANSPARENT BOTTOM:

For every person who has visited Egypt, this country is primarily associated with the amazing underwater world of corals and their colorful inhabitants. If you have come to Egypt with a child for the first time, we recommend that you show your young traveler the main beauties of these places. Since deep-sea diving is not available for children, the best solution to the problem is a walk on a glass-bottomed boat, during which almost all the secrets and mysteries of the Red Sea bottom will be revealed.

You will comfortably settle in the depths of a watercraft that will glide along the coral reefs, taking you on a fascinating and very interesting sea voyage. You will be amazed not only by the main treasures of the bottom of Hurghada, but also by the purest transparent water of the sea, the brightness of the southern sun, the tenderness of summer marshmallows. The excursion begins in the morning. The transfer takes tourists to the place from where the ships depart, where a boat with a glass bottom is already waiting for them.

The excursion lasts approximately 2-3 hours. During this time, the boat stops over coral reefs and in one of the lagoons with a beach covered with fine white sand. Here, travelers can swim (do not forget to bring a swimsuit, towel, rubber slippers). When choosing this excursion from a tour operator, inquire about the type of boat on which you will make a sea voyage. There are different options for watercraft: with panoramic windows or with a glass bottom. In any case, you will be very interested in observing the life of the underwater world: schools of bright fish will constantly scurry around you, electric rays will slowly swim by, sharp-toothed moray eels will glide in a spiral. Sea urchins with huge, very sharp spines lie here and there on bizarre corals. It is thanks to the transparent bottom that you can perfectly examine this or that fish or corals.

During the trip, your group will be accompanied by a guide who will tell you in detail about each representative of the underwater kingdom of the Red Sea. Be sure to take a camera or video camera with you and give it to your child. Let your young cameraman capture all the most interesting moments of the sea voyage. During the walk, you will approach the coral reefs several times so close that it will seem as if the boat is about to touch one of them with its bottom. You can not be afraid of this false feeling, in fact, a walk on a ship with a glass bottom is an absolutely safe adventure. The thing is that the water of the Red Sea is so clean and transparent that distant reefs seem much closer to us due to the optical effect. By the way, plain water will not be superfluous on this trip. Take a few bottles with you, as you may be thirsty during the trip.

3. TITANIC AQUAPARK:

This water park is one of the largest in Hurghada. It was built on the territory of the Titanic Resort & Aquapark Hotel in 2004, on the second coastline. The location close to the sea is a significant advantage of the water park: after active rides on the water slides, a family with children can go to relax on the beach. The Titanic water park has 27 slides, 14 of which are intended only for adults. We recommend paying special attention to such a slide as “Tsunami”, which is a steep descent along which a person slides up and down on a circle until the centrifugal force weakens.

Unforgettable impressions await you on the “Black Hole” tube slide. During the descent on it, swimmers develop unprecedented speed, but this dynamic journey still ends in the pool. The water park also has its own giant braids, which are coolly intertwined. The flight in these spiral braids inevitably intersects with the flight of another person in the neighboring pipe. There are two slides in the Titanic called Free Fall – an open and a closed pipe. You can feel like a real astronaut on the descent “Space Hole”, and on the bright “Multislide” you can ride (and more than once) with the whole family – four wide slides for simultaneous descent! The children’s play area is always full of cheerfully screaming kids.

The youngest guests of the Titanic water park swim here. In the cold season, the water here is always heated, and in the summer the pools are very warm anyway. A large ship in one of the pools opens several descents down for the little brave ones. They are not dangerous, but very fun and dynamic. The kids also have their own slide “Free Fall”. It is intended for the bravest children. On the territory of the water park you will be able not only to slide down a variety of slides several times, but also to swing in the wave pool, relax on a circle, floating on a slow river, conquer a river with a whirlpool, intended for rafting on boats.

The owners of the Titanic water park in Hurghada have carefully thought out all the safety issues of vacationers. There is a rescue station and a medical center on the territory. In addition, an instructor is on duty at each attraction, who monitors the observance of the rules during the descent. Not far from the water park and the Titanic complex is the Hurghada Grand Aquarium. Within its walls, your child will get acquainted with almost all types of fish living in the Red Sea.

4. MAKADI BAY WATER WORLD AQUAPARK:

One of the best water parks in Egypt is Makadi Water World, which occupies a total area of 7 thousand square meters. It is located next to the Madinat Makadi resort (Hurghada area), which is a number of luxury hotels. Makadi Water World opened its doors to visitors in May 2011. Coming here today, you will find well-groomed lawns with evenly mown grass, new comfortable sun loungers and umbrellas, polite and courteous staff and, of course, a huge number of various slides for children and adults! Visitors to the water park are provided with mats and inflatable rings for sliding at high speed.

What is especially attractive: there are never crowds of people on the territory of the entertainment water center, because the water park is quite large. The territory of Makadi Water World is divided into several age zones: +0; +3; +5; zones for adults. The water in the pools of the first three zones is heated, so even the smallest children can splash around almost all day long. The slides in this water park are designed for any age, taste and level of courage. There are about 50 different slides for children and adults. The steepest 19-meter-high waterfall slide awaits you, as well as the equally extreme Free Fall, Turbulence, Black Hole, Uphill, Rafting, Tsunami, and Wave. There is a wide and gentle Family Slide, painted in all the colors of the rainbow.

You can go down it with your whole cheerful company. The simplest children’s slides, such as Elephant or Mini Rainbow, will delight the youngest guests of the water park. Makadi Water World has a really large number of slides. There are closed and open, wide and narrow, for one person or four, low and high, so steep that it seems they go down almost at a right angle, as well as swing slides, the point of which is not a steep descent into the water, but sliding from one end to the other until the figure-eight circle comes to a complete stop. Makadi Water World water park is stylized as a pirate island – this is especially liked by boys. They are ready to play pirates on its territory all day long. For the youngest visitors, the water park has a special Pirates town, in the middle of which a filibusters’ ship with sails and a large steering wheel rises. From the stern of the watercraft, many slides for visitors of category 5+ go into a heated pool.

On the territory of the water park there is also a pool with artificial waves and an attraction “Rafting on the river”. The ticket price includes drinks and food. You can choose your favorite snacks for yourself and your child. The local self-service bar offers a wide range of soft drinks to guests of Makadi Water World. Here you can also get pasta, hot and cold sandwiches, pizza, cakes, ice cream, sweet waffles. Safety in the largest water park in Hurghada is thought out literally to the smallest detail. At each descent there is a water park employee who strictly monitors compliance with safety rules. He watches carefully until a person goes down the slide and ends up in the pool. Only then does he allow the next person to go down. There is also a team of lifeguards on the territory. In Makadi Water World, cheerful dynamic music plays throughout the day, preventing visitors from getting bored.

5. SAND SCULPTURE COMPLEX SAND CITY:

The first museum of sand sculptures “Sand City” opened in Hurghada relatively recently. However, during this time it managed to win the hearts of a large number of children and adults who visited this amazing place. The museum is located in the open air on a flat area, the size of which is close to a football stadium. You can get to “Sand City” by any type of transport: you just need to go to the Senzo Mall area. Once you get to the territory of the sand sculpture complex, you will be enchanted by the special atmosphere that reigns here.

The scale of the structures, which are several times larger than a person, is striking. They look monumental and are visible from afar. The detailing is amazing, especially the faces are drawn accurately. It is interesting to note that at least a couple of dozen tons of sand were used to build about 30 sand sculptures that make up the exposition of this open-air museum. In the process of constructing the figures, in addition to the bulk fraction, only water was used as a binding agent. The Sand City complex is visually divided into two large zones. In one of them, you and your child will be able to admire famous mythical heroes and historical figures such as Gaius Julius Caesar, Cleopatra, Nefertiti, Poseidon, Zeus, Napoleon and many others.

There is even a Sphinx here, which most tourists consider a full-fledged symbol of Egypt. In the second part of the Hurghada Museum, there are sand figures of heroes of famous world blockbusters, cartoons and literary works. So, here you will see Iron Man, Hulk, Spider-Man, robots from the Transformers movie epic, a monkey from King Kong, pirate Jack Sparrow and many others. What your young traveler will especially like are the heroes of Russian cartoons: Winnie the Pooh, Smeshariki, Well, Just You Wait! Local craftsmen who create such complex structures use only specially purified sand and water in their work. In order to begin work on the next figure, the sculptor rams the wet loose material hard, turning it into a dense block.

After that, the sand artist uses a spatula, a loop and palette knives to mold his work, very accurately conveying the smallest details. All your favorite characters will come to life before your eyes – this will make an indelible impression on the child. However, there is one very significant disadvantage of such sculptures: they are all very fragile and completely short-lived. Strong winds, rain and even the scorching ultraviolet rays of the sun pose a serious threat to sand figures. To prevent natural factors from destroying the sculptures so quickly, they are covered with a special adhesive composition and, in addition, are sprayed with water daily in order to prevent drying out. That is why the main requirement of the open-air museum “Sand City” is contactless viewing of the sculptures.
